2 gallons pickling cucumbers
1 gal water (cold)
1 pt salt

1 gallon boiling water

1 gallon boiling water
1 lump (size of walnut) alum

2½ quart vinegar
8 C sugar
5 cents of cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Pour cold water and salt over cucumbers for 1 week. Pour off water and throw away.

Add boiling water to cucumbers. Let stand 24 hours and pour off and throw away.

Add boiling water and alum to cucumbers and let stand 24 hours. Pour off and throw away.

Heat remaining ingredients to boiling and pour over pickles. Pack in jars.
