Ingredients:  
1 cup butter
1 cup dark brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
3 cups flour
1 egg
Juice from 1 medium lemon
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 cup finely chopped pecans or dates (chop in food processor if available)

Directions:
Directions:
--Cream butter and sugars

--Add egg and lemon juice

--Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt

--Add flour mixture to butter/sugar mixture. The dough should be stiff.

--Form dough into 3 long rolls, roll tightly in wax paper and freeze for at least 2 hours.

--Remove from freezer, unwrap and slice into ¼ slices.

--Place cookies onto greased cookie sheet

--Bake in 350ºF oven for 15 minutes.
