1 ½ c. creamy peanut butter
½ c. salted butter
1 (16 oz.) box confectioner’s sugar
1 (6 oz.) package chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. shortening (DO NOT USE MARGARINE OR BUTTER)

Directions:
Directions:
- Line 1 or 2 cookie sheets with waxed paper.
- In a bowl, mix peanut butter (at room temperature), vanilla and sifted confectioner’s sugar with hands until thoroughly blended into a smooth dough. (Mixture will be stiff.)
- Shape dough into balls using 2 tsp. for each ball.
- Place on waxed paper and put in refrigerator or freeze until thoroughly chilled.
- In top of double boiler over simmering (NOT BOILING) water, melt chocolate and shortening together.
- When smooth, remove pan and dip each ball into chocolate until ball is coated. (Do just a few at a time.)
- Insert toothpick into ball to dip in chocolate.
- Refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
