2 C fresh basil, stemmed
3 cloves garlic
3/4 - 1 C olive oil
1/2 C grated Parmesan or Romano cheese (I use the blenc)

Optional: 1/2 C pine nuts or walnuts

Directions:

Put all ingredients in blender or food processor and mix well.

Store in sealed container in refrigerator or freeze until ready to use.

I use this as an appetizer served with fresh French bread, chopped tomatoes, and grated Parmesan cheese. I've also used this as a sauce for pasta.

I tend to use more cheese when blending to make a thicker sauce.
