3-4 28 oz. cans of crushed tomatoes
½ onion, finely chopped
4 cloves garlic
3-5 tbsp. dried basil
1-2 tbsp. black pepper
1 tbsp. of sugar
2 tbsp. olive oil
⅓ c. of grated Parmesan or Romano Cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat and then add onion.

Saute for 10 minutes or so, stirring often and be careful not to burn the onion.

Add the chopped or minced garlic.

Heat for another one or two minutes, making sure not to burn the garlic. Then add the tomatoes, black pepper, basil, and sugar. Stirring often and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low and simmer for 2-3 hours, stirring often.

For the first half of the simmer time, do so with the pot uncovered.

Add the cheese, stir in and simmer for additional 5 minutes or so.

I usually make a double batch and freeze the rest for future meals. It freezes great!
