½ c. flour
3 tbsp oil
1½ - 2 lbs. cut up stew meat
dash of salt and pepper

1½ c water
1 can (15oz) tomato sauce
1 bay leaf
2 stalks celery (cut up)
1 large onion (cut up)

3 carrots (cut up)
4-6 potatoes (cut up)
1c. frozen peas

Directions:
Directions:
Heat the oil in a frying pan . Place flour, salt, and pepper together in a bowl and mix together. Cover each piece of meat in flour and brown in the oil.

Combine water, tomato sauce, bay leaf, celery, and onion together with the beef and cook on simmer for 1 -1½ hours.

Add remaining ingredients to stew and cook on low for another 30-45 minutes.

I usually put the carrots and potatoes in when I but in the celery and onion to make sure the are cooked through.
