Ingredients:
7 cups flour
1/2 lb. butter
1 lb. lard
2 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 cup brown sugar
1egg
1 tsp. vinegar
1 cup cold water

Directions:
Directions:
Cut the butter and lard into the flour, baking powder and brown sugar mixture using a pastry blender. Using your hands, work the flour into the mixture until it looks like crumbly oatmeal. If the mixture is too rich, it will break when you roll it. Use a bit more flour if needed.
You don't have to use all the dough at once, but the remainder should be refrigerated.
Use about 2 cups of the crumb mixture for a 9" double crust pie.
Break the egg into a 1 cup measuring cup. Add vinegar and stir vigorously with a fork. Fill the cup up with cold water. Use enough of the liquid to moisten the crumb mixture and divide in half. Roll out each half on a floured board to form two crusts. Try to avoid stretching it. Fit into the pie plate. Trim edges.
