McIntosh apples (peeled and sliced)
1 c. sugar
½ c. flour
1 pkg. white cake mix
Cinnamon
brown sugar
Water (approx. 1 ½ c.)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°.
Butter bottom and sides of a 9” x 13” pan well. Pour apple slices over the bottom of the pan (preferably glass pan) and spread out in an even layer. (Pan should be about ¾ full.) Combine flour and sugar and sprinkle evenly over the apples. Cover the apples with water. Mix up the white cake mix as directed on package and pour approximately ½ the mixture over the apples in the pan. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon over the top of the cake batter and bake 45 to 50 minutes.

We got this recipe from Micheline on a trip that Memeré (Gabrielle Bernard) and I took together to St. Guillaume, Québec, Canada in the late 1980's. It was her last trip to Canada.
