2 C sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
1/4 C sugar
2 eggs
2 1/4 C buttermilk or sour milk
1/4 C melted shortening or salad oil

Directions:
Directions:
Stir dry ingredients into a bowl.
Add eggs, buttermilk, and shortening.
Beat with rotary beater until smooth.
Pour 1/3 C batter on hot griddle (Grease griddle lightly for first pancake only)
