1 yeast cake
1 cup hot water
1/2 cup shortening
2 T sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 egg
3 cups unsifted flour
Directions:
Directions:
Pour hot water over shortening and let cool. Add yeast, sugar and egg and beat until sugar is dissolved. Fold in flour and dry ingredients. Let raise once, roll out dough and cut biscuits. Let raise and bake at 400º for 12-15 minutes.
