Cut shortening into salt and flour just like for pie dough. Gradually add egg, water, vinegar mix and blend.

Put dough into frig to chill for at least 20 minutes.

Filling: Peel and chop 3 small potatoes, 1 small onion and put in a pan with 1 lb. hamburger and your favorite seasonings. Brown meat and cook potatoes till done. (I also added some cooked, chopped carrots). Now let cool while preparing dough.

Roll dough (separate into 6 pieces) like pie dough into an 8" circle.

Put 1 c. of filling on half of the circle. Put 1/2 c. of pie filling (apple, cherry, etc.). Fold over dough and brush with egg wash of 1 beaten egg.

Bake at 400 degrees for about 25 minutes until lightly browned.

Personal Notes:
This is a recipe that I received from a supervisor's wife at Braidwood. It's a meal in one! It takes time to make, but if you freeze seal them real well, it's a great last minute meal for everyone in the family! They are even great to take to work to have a complete meal in the microwave!
