1½ C sugar
1 C shortening
⅓ C cocoa
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 C cold coffee
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2½ C sifted flour
½ C hot water
Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs. Sift dry ingredients, add alternately with coffee. Last add ½ C hot water. Bake 350º for 30 minutes or until done.

This makes a very short cake and the batter is rather thin.
