Crust..... 1 cup flour, 1 stick of butter, 2 tbls water.

Puff pastry...……...1 cup of boiling water, 1 stick butter, 1 cup flour, 4 eggs, 1 tsp almond extract.

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour and cut in butter, add water to make a dough. Spread on ungreased cookie sheets, 2 strips about 3½-4" long. Bake at 350º for about 12-15 minutes . Remove from oven and make puff pastry. ......In a saucepan combine water and butter. Bring to a boil. Add flour all at once, stir and cook until mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat and cool 10 minutes. Add eggs 1 at a time beating well with a wooden spoon after each addition, add almond extract. Spoon the pastry on top of the crust bake in a 400º oven for about 18-25- minutes or until golden brown. When cool make a glaze. Mix a cup of confectionery . sugar with a small amount of milk ,add a tsp of almond extract and drizzle over pastry.

My mother's Aunt Aagot brought this when she would come for a visit, it became something easy to make and items that are almost always in the house. Bonnie forms the bottom crust into a circle and it makes a nice ring. Aagots was married to my grandmothers brother [Ralph]
