1 bunch leaf lettuce
3 pears
4 T lime juice, divided
2 c seedless red grapes
1/2 c walnut pieces
1/3 c honey
1/4 tsp grated lime zest
1 1/2 tsp poppy seeds
1 tsp finely grated onion
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp ground mace
1/4 c vegetable oil

FOR THE SALADS, TEAR LETTUCE INTO BITE-SIZED PIECES. LINE 8 INDIVIDUAL SALAD BOWLS WIT EQUAL PORTIONS OF THE LETTUCE

CUT PEARS INTO THIN SLICES. TOSS PEARS WITH 1 T LIME JUICE IN A MIDIUM BOWL. CUT GRAPES INTO HALVES.

ARRANGE PEARS, GRAPES AND WALNUTS OVER LETTUCE. COVER BOWLS AND CHILL FOR 1 HOUR.

FOR SALAD DRESSING COMBINE THE HONEY, LIME ZEST, REMAINING LIME JUICE, POPPY SEEDS, ONION, SALT AND MACE IN A SMALL BOWL.

GRADUALLY ADD THE VEGETABLE OIL TO THE HONEY MIXTURE, BEATING CONTINUALLY WITH AN ELECTRIC MIXER SET AT HIGH SPEED. BEAT UNTIL MIXTURE IS THICK. DRIZZLE EQUAL PORTIONS OF SALAD DRESSING OVER SALADS. SERVE IMMEDIATELY.
