Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding Recipe

3/4 pound day-old Italian bread broken into 1 inch chunks (about 9 cups)
4 cups milk
4 eggs beaten
1 1/4 cup sugar (divided)
1 tsp. vanilla
4 Tbs. butter, melted
pinch of salt
3 large ripe bananas cut into 1/2 inch rounds (about 3 cups)
1 1/3 semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Place bread chunks into large bowl.
In separate bowl whisk together milk, eggs, 1 cup sugar, vanilla, butter and salt.
Pour custard mixture over break chunks and let sit for 10 - 15 minutes to be absorbed.
Stir in bananas and chocolate chips.
Pour into greased 9 X 13 inch baking dish.
Sprinkle with 1/4 cup sugar.

Bake 45-50 minutes at 350F.

While I've never actually made this (yet) I've always been intrigued and will definitely make it one day. Bread Puddings are one of my favourite things, and this one sounds yummy.
