1 Pkg Dry Active Yeast
2 Tsp Sugar
1/2 Cup Warm Milk
6 Eggs-Separated
3/4 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Chopped Walnuts
1 Cup Soft Butter
3 Cups Sifted Flour
1 Jar Apricot or Prune Preserves
1 Tsp Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine yeast, sugar, and warm milk. Mix until yeast is dissolved. Stir in egg yolks and soft butter. Fold in flour until dough is soft and smooth. Divide dough into 3 equal parts. Roll one piece out to fit a 9 inch pan. Spread preserves on top of dough. Roll out another piece of dough and put on top of preserves. Spread preserves on top of the second piece and top with third piece of rolled out dough. Cover and let rise for one hour. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Remove pastry from oven. Beat egg whites, sugar, and vanilla until stiff. Spread on pastry and sprinkle with chopped nuts. Return to oven for 15 more minutes or until top is golden brown. Remove let cool, and slice into serving slices.
