2 c. sugar
½ c. corn syrup
2 egg whites stiffly beaten
½ c. water
½ t. salt
1 t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
1. Mix sugar, syrup, salt, and water. Heat slowly stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. Heat rapidly to the boiling point, cover for 2 minutes, then finish cooking without stirring. Using 251.6º F. for very dry weather, 254.3-255.2º F. for humidity.
2. Wash crystals from side of pan. Pour slowly into stiffly beaten egg whites. Use two teaspoons to remove from bowl or drop on waxed paper. Work rapidly to produce a uniform produce. May be poured into buttered molding pans.
3. Vanilla, nuts or candied fruit should be added when mixture begins to stiffen.
