Ingredients: Dear Friends and Family,
We hope this New Year’s letter finds you well, recovered from a busy and great 2018 holiday season, and are ready for a wonderful 2019!
Chris and Clyde are still at 55 Thiokol Road in Elkton, Maryland and are official Northrop Grumman employees. Same jobs, same place, same bat channel but with a new logo! We have a busy year working four moves with our children, going to “classic” rock concerts( Eagles, James Taylor, Boston, Joan Jett, The Hooters,..), Dewey Beach with the family, hosting Thanksgiving for the our family and friends (25+ but lost count), Temple Basketball, weekend trips to visit our children or just meet Connor in local pub, hosting family Christmas including a quick trip to Longwood Gardens, and squeezing in a year end trips to New York City and to Maine for New Year’s.
We continue to enjoy our moms Mommom is now the president of the MD Women’s Club travelling throughout MD and the US visiting sister sites. Chris and Clyde were able to be at her induction ceremony and it was grand! She loves to travel and meet new people, so this is perfect for her. On the Oma front, it was a better medical year but the need for a CPAP machine has not made her happy. Making her the happiest this year has been becoming a great grandmother to Noelle Chamblee, daughter of Nate and Kaitlin Chamblee (granddaughter).
Annemarie continues as an oncology nurse at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh and has started the doctor of nurse practioner program at the University of Pittsburgh. A dedicated and emotional Pitt fan she endured their recent bowl loss and the Steelers failure to make the playoffs. But, she and Kory made a successful move into a new apartment this summer. It was a fun move and we were able to spend some time with Kory’s parents as well.
Allison finished her rotation program at Marsh and is now an Assistant Vice President in Insurance Placement Specialist for management liability insurance. She still lives in Hoboken, NJ but moved up Hudson Street to a beautiful 3rd floor apartment of an old mansion. It was a mighty hot day when we helped her move but the 3 moving company workers did an amazing job getting the heavy stuff up the 7 sets of stairs! Allison loves the New York Giants and was thrilled when Saquon Barkley of Penn State was their number one draft!
Connor still works at W L Gore Associates in Newark, DE as an electrical engineer in a product development group that was recently recognized for their innovative work by the owners. He has become a great hard cider maker and enjoys craft beers. Connor and Margo took a Caribbean cruise and trip to Ireland and Scotland last year and had a splendid time! Margo graduated from Penn State with her degree in Chemical Engineering and now works for Ecolab near Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Sarah is working hard on her Nursing degree at Penn State Altoona and had many early morning clinicals at distant locations to support her classes. We were finally able to make an Altoona Curve minor league game last year and it was a blast. A local restaurant near Sarah was one of advertisers and between innings they had 3 meatballs chasing a bowl of spaghetti. Hilarious – guess you had to be there. Again, Sarah worked at YMCA summer camp as a lead counselor and looks to return there in 2019 but is also looking at some nursing related work opportunities at a local nursing home.
Other activities this year included niece Kaitlin (Carr) and Nate Chamblee having their first child Noelle, Thanksgiving visit by niece Nicole and husband Matt over Thanksgiving, Connor and Clyde providing videography/laptop support at a Pittsburgh Steelers preseason game in Philadelphia in the stadium and on the field with the players courtesy of Kory, Steelers preseason minicamp in Latrobe, return t to Ohiopyle waterfalls, plays in NYC, ice fishing with Nate in Maine on Moose Pond,…
