6-8 Potatoes scrubbed, peeled, and chopped
1/2 Gallon Milk (Maybe a little more)
4 tablespoons Butter (or more depending on your taste)
1 Onion
1 Pkg Bear Creek soup mix
Salt (To your taste)
pepper (To your taste)

Directions:
Directions:
Cover potatoes and onions with water in a large pot, bring to a boil, boil until potatoes are just fork tender.

Drain all of the water accept about 2 cups. Add milk, Soup Package, butter Salt and Pepper.

Cook over medium heat for about another 10 -15 minutes.

I know there are different versions of Mom's soup, I remember she would used Trio instant potatoes for thickening also to add a little more flavor. Back then you could buy Trio potatoes in a small package at the grocery store. The only place I can find them now is in a bulk container at Sams.

She also would add home made dumplings
