4 squares (4 ounces) unsweetened chocolate
¼ cup salad oil
*or 1 cup cocoa and 4 t. salad oil
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 t. vanilla
2 cups flour
2 t. baking powder
½ t. salt
½ cup chopped walnuts
1 cup powdered sugar

Melt chocolate squares in top of double boiler or mixing bowl over hot water. Remove from heat and blend in oil and sugar. Add eggs, one at at time beatting well after each. Add vanilla. Sift or whisk flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in chocolate mixture. Add nuts and mix well. chill the dough several hours or over night. Roll teaspoon size balls in powdered sugar. Bake in preheated oven on lightly greased cookie sheet at 350º for 10 to 12 minutes. The powdered sugar will crack during baking, gives them an interesting look.
