1 CUP SUGAR
3/4 CUP CRISCO SHORTENING
1 1/2 CUPS ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
1/4 TSP SALT
1 HEAPING TSP COCOA
1 TSP VANILLA
2 EGGS
1 (12 OZ) BAG PEANUT BUTTER CHIPS


TOPPING:
1 CUP BROWN SUGAR
1 (6 OZ) PKG CHOCOLATE CHIPS
1 CUP CHOPPED PECANS OR WALNUTS

ADD BAKING SODA TO BOILING WATER AND LET COOL. CREAM SUGAR AND SHORTENING. ADD EGGS AND WATER TO CREAMED MIXTURE AND BEAT WELL. SIFT FLOUR, SALT AND COCOA. FOLD FLOUR MIX AND PEANUT BUTTER CHIPS INTO SUGAR AND SHORTENING. ADD VANILLA. POUR INTO BUTTERED 13 X 9 PAN.
SPRINKLE THE CAKE BATTER WITH THE BLENDED TOPPING MIX AND BAKE AT 350 FOR 45-50 MINUTES.
