Apple Molasses Bar (Cake) Recipe

1 c Butter
1 c Sugar
2/3 c Molasses
2 Eggs
2 c All Purpose Flour
1 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Grated Lemon Rind
1 1/2 c Chopped Walnuts
1 c Chopped Raisins
1 c Chopped Candied Cherries
1 c Canned Applesauce
Frosting, candied cherries, nuts, silver shot.

Cream together butter, sugar, and molasses. Add eggs & beaten until light. Sift together dry ingredients, add to cream mixture. Stir in lemon rind, walnuts, raisins, cherries, and applesauce. Mix well. Divide batter into 2 greased & floured non stick coated aluminum 8 x 8 x 2" pans. Bake at 350 in oven for 35 min or until done.
