3/4 c light or dark raisins
3/4 c Crisco
2/3 c. granulated sugar
2/3 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 t vanilla
1/2 t salt, heaping
1 1/2 c sifted flour
1 t baking soda
1 t baking powder
3 T cream or milk
1 c uncooked rolled oats
3/4 c flaked coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Rinse and drain raisins. Cream shortening, sugars, egg and vanilla together. Sift flour with salt, soda, and baking powder and stir in first mixture. Blend in cream, oats, coconut, raisins and drop by teaspoon on greased baking sheet and flatten slightly with bottom of glass dipped in sugar.

Bake in a moderately hot oven (350º) about 10 minutes.

Makes about 4 dozen.
