1 rounded Tbsp. butter
1 c sugar
1 heaping Tbsp flour
2 rounded Tbsp cocoa
1 cup milk
3 eggs, separated
2 tsp Vanilla

Meringue:
3 egg whites
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
6 Tbsp sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in heavy saucepan. Add sugar, flour and cocoa and mix well. In separate bowl, mix milk and egg yolks together and add to above mixture. Let come to a boil and cook until thick. Stir constantly. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Pour into baked pie shell. Top with meringue and brown meringue in moderate oven.

Meringue:
Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until fluffy. Add sugar and continue beating until mixture holds stiff peaks. Spread on pie making sure you cover pie crust edges. Put in oven till brown.
