CRUST:

1 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup shortening
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp water

FILLING:

1/2 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup dark or light karo syrup
1 tbsp flour
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup broken pecans

Directions:
Directions:
place pastry ingredients in mixing bowl. beat at low speed of mixer until particles are fine. press crumb mixture evenly and firmly into 9 inch pie pan.

combine filling ingredients in mixing bowl.

stir in pecans. pour into unbaked pie shell.

bake at 375º for 35-40 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
