2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup pecan halves

CARAMEL LAYER:
2/3 cup butter
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 (6 0z) package semisweet chocolate chips (1 cup)

Directions:
Directions:
For crust, combine all crust ingredients except pecans in a large mixer bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed and particles are fine ( 2-3minutes).
Press mixture onto bottom of ungreased 13x9 baking pan. Sprinkle pecans evenly over unbaked crust.

For Caramel Layer, combine 2/3 cup butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar in a 1-qt. saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a full boil. Boil, stirring constantly, until candy thermometer reaches 242º or small amount of mixture dropped into ice water forms a firm ball (about 1 - 3 minutes). Pour
evenly over pecans and crust.

Bake in preheated 3250º oven 18 - 22 minutes or until entire caramel layer is bubbly. Remove from oven. Sprinkle with chocolate chips; let stand 2-3 minutes. Swirl chips with a knife, leaving some whole for marbled effect. Cool completely; cut into bars. Makes 36 bars.
