1/2 CUP SHORTENING & ABOUT 2 TBSP OF MARGARINE OR BUTTER

1 CUP BROWN SUGAR

1/2 TSP VANILLA

1 EGG BEATEN

3/4 CUP FLOUR (SIFTED)

1/2 TSP SALT

2 C QUICK OATMEAL

TOPPING:
1 - 6 OZ. PKG CHOC CHIPS.

1 CAN SWEET CONDENSED MILK

1 TSP BUTTER

1/4 TSP SALT

1 TSP VANILLA

1/2 CUP NUTS

CREAM FIRST 3 INGREDIENTS.

ADD BEATEN EGG.

ADD DRY INGRED AND OATMEAL.

SAVE 3/4 CUP MIXTURE FOR TOP.

PRESS REST IN A 9 X 13 GREASED PAN.

TOPPING:

COOK OVER LOW HEAT TIL CHIPS MELT. REMOVE AND ADD 1 TSP VANILLA & 1/2 CUP NUTS.
POUR OVER CRUMB BASE & DROP RESERVED CRUMBS IN VERY SMALL DABS ON FILLING.

BAKE AT 350 ABOUT 30-35 MINUTES.
