CRUST:
2 c. – flour
½ tsp. – baking powder
½ tsp. – salt
¾ c. – lard
1 tsp. – lemon juice
1/3 c. – water OR milk
2 – egg yolks, beaten

FILLING:
6 – apples
1 c. – sugar
¼ tsp. – salt
2 T. – flour
1 T. – butter
1 tsp.– cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Mix 2 cups of flour, ½ tsp. baking powder, ½ tsp. salt, and ¾ cup of lard. Combine egg yolks, lemon juice, and water or milk. Add to flour mixture blend lightly. Divide into 2 parts; roll between wax paper. Place bottom crust into jellyroll or deep cookie sheet. Now make filling. Pare and slice apples. Sift dry ingredients together and mix with apples. Place mixture on top of bottom crust. Dot with butter. Place crust over filling sealing edges. Bake in hot oven 425º, for 20 minutes. Reduce heat to 350º and bake 30 minutes longer. Ice with confectioners sugar.
