Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 pound butter (4 sticks)
4 eggs
2 cups sugar
2 cups brown sugar
2 t. vanilla
2 t. baking soda
2 t. baking powder
4⅓ cups flour
5 cups instant oat meal
16 ounces chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and add both sugars. Beat well and add eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla and mix. In a separate bowl combine dry ingredients except oat meal and whisk together. Add dry mixture to cream mixture gradually. Add oats and chocolate chips. Might have to use a wooden spoon at the end. I cool my batter in fridge, to make it easier to work with. Hint: I usually add about ¼ cup more flour. I found it works better. Shape in golf ball size balls. If you desire you can make them a little smaller. Place on ungreased or very lightly greased cookie sheet about 2" apart. Flatten slightly with your finger. Bake 6 to 8 minutes at 375º. Do not over bake. When removing from oven, hold up a little and drop on flat table top. Cool slightly and remove to wire rack to cool. You can cut recipe in half if desired.
