1 gal. pork-n-beans
1 lb. bacon
1 onion, chopped
2 ribs celery, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
¾ c. ketchup
¼ c. Dark Karo© syrup
¾ c. brown sugar
2 T. mustard
2 T. worcestershire sauce
liquid smoke

Directions:
Directions:
1. Drain most of the juice off the beans. Pour beans into large baking dish.
2. Chop the bacon and fry with the onion, celery, and peppers. Add to beans.
3. Dump in ketchup, syrup, brown sugar, mustard, and worcestershire.
4. Add liquid smoke to taste.
5. Bake at 350º for at least an hour.

All of the ingredients are approximates because Dad didn't use a recipe and none of us do either. Bush's may keep their recipe a secret but Dad's is too good not to share.
