1½ cup sugar
¾ stick margarine or butter
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3 tbsp whisky
4 cups flour
½ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp baking powder
1 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cream well the sugar and margarine or butter. Add well-beaten eggs, vanilla and whisky. Then add dry ingredients or milk. Mix well and gradually add more flour. Just enough to handle dough. Roll out onto board to ¼ inch thickness. Cut into strips. Make a slit in each strip and pull one end through to make a knot. Deep fry in hot lard. Drain on paper towel. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
