¾ cup poppy seeds ¾ cup milk ¾ cup butter ½ cup sugar 1 tsp vanilla 2 cups sifted flour 2 tsp baking powder 4 eggs separated- put yolks in cake at the end
Mix poppy seeds and milk and let stand 6 hours on counter. Cream butter and sugar. Add poppy seed mix and vanilla. Add flour that has been sifted with baking powder. When smooth, fold in beaten egg whites. Bake in greased and floured loaf pans or 1 bunt pan. Use powdered sugar and milk frosting over cake. Bake at 350 for 30-40 min or until browned.
