4 eggs, separated
1 tsp vanilla extract
cup sugar
cup sifted cake flour
tsp baking powder
tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored. Add vanilla extract. Add cup sugar gradually beating well after each addition. Sift dry ingredients together and fold into egg yolk-sugar mixture.
Beat egg whites stiff. Add remaining cup sugar. Fold egg whites into mixture and pour into 15 by 10 inch jelly roll pan lined with wax paper. Bake.

Cut jelly roll loose from sides of pan and turn onto a towel lightly covered with confectioners sugar. Trim sides of crust if needed. Holding onto edge of towel, roll jelly roll and allow to cool. Unroll and spread with jelly. Reroll.
