1 cup sugar
1/4 cup shortening
1 egg
3 large apples (or 6 small ones)
1 cup flour
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Suace:
2 cups milk
2 T corn starch
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. orange peel
1/2 pint whipping cream
Directions:
Directions:
Bake in a long dish at 350º for 25 minutes.

Sauce:
Cook together until it comes to a boil, cool and fold in whipping cream. Chill
