1 tbsp. yeast
4 c hot water
1 c sugar
1 tsp salt
1 beaten egg
1/2 c Crisco oil (I use vegetable oil)
10-12 c flour

Directions:
Directions:
Use 1/2 c water to dissolve yeast in a small bowl.

To the remaining 3 1/2 c water, add all the other ingredients. Mix well. Add 5 c flour and beat until smooth. Add remaining flour and knead till smooth, not sticky.

Let rise about 2 hours in a warm place. Punch down and make into buns.

Place on greased pans, cover with palstic wrap and leave overnight. ( I dip the tops in oil before placing in the pan)

Bake in the morning at 375 for about 15 mins.

These buns are soft and delicious. I have no idea where Mom got the recipe, but she used to make them and freeze in bags of 1 dozen, to use when company came for dinner. Kandace used to eat at half a dozen buns when they came out of the oven. They freeze very well and the recipe can easily be doubled.
