4 slices bacon, cut in small pieces
1 small onion, chopped
2 medium potatoes, peeled and chopped in small pieces
2 tsp. Basil or oregano
salt and pepper to taste
2 cans chopped(not minced) clams, plus liquid
1 12 oz. Can evaporated milk
3 cups milk

Cook bacon and onion until bacon is cooked but not crisp. Drain off all grease. Add potatoes, seasonings and clams with liquid. Cover and cook on low heat until potatoes are cooked. Mash about half of the potatoes with a fork. Add milks and continue cooking on very low heat until warmed through.
