Vegetable oil
2 - beef bouillon cubes
Potatoes, cut
Carrots

Directions:
Directions:
Start with 4 lb. roast. Heat a drizzle of vegetable oil in a roasting pan. Salt and pepper, and sear the roast on all sides. This seals in the juices, creates a rich base for gravy and gives a beautiful appearance to the roast. Place two bouillon cubes on top of the roast, one on either end. Shove them into a crevice where there is a fatty pocket. Add veggies if desired.

Place lid on pan. Place in cold oven and set to 400º. After 30 minutes, turn the oven down to 275º. Cook for 3 hours.
