1 cup butter
¾ cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 ½ cups flour
¾ tsp salt
2 cups dried fruit
½ cup sugar for rolling

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter and sugar until pale and fluffy. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Mix in flour and salt. Roll dough into two 6-inch logs and freeze. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 375ºF, unwrap the dough and roll it in the sugar. Cut the dough into ¼-inch rounds. Bake for 15-18 minutes until the edges are golden.
