3 cups all purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
½ cup cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
½ cup corn oil
2 tbsp. white vinegar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups cold water

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Using a fork blend flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Using the tail end of the fork or a wooden spoon, make 3 wells in dry ingredients. Pour oil in 1 hole, vinegar in another and vanilla in the 3rd. Pour cold water over top and mix until well combined. Pour into lightly greased 9 inch square pan and bake on center rack for 45 minutes or until springy when lightly touched in the center.

For a round cake use a 9 1/2 inch spring form pan. Reduce cooking temperature to 325ºF and bake for 65 to 75 minutes or until springy when lightly touched in the center.
