2 bags shredded coleslaw mix (cabbage & carrots)
1 - 1 1/2 bags shredded carrots
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup white vinegar
2 TBSP water
1 TBSP vegetable oil
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp chicken-flavored bouillon granules
1/2 tsp white pepper
Dash of hot sauce
Dash of celery seeds

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar and next 8 ingredients in a small saucepan; bring to a boil, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves. (Can be made a day ahead). Let cool and pour over coleslaw and toss well.
Cover and chill at least 2 hours. Stir before serving; serve with a slotted spoon.

The first time I made this was when my grandparents (Henry & Esther Brandt) celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in Dallas. My parents and brother and Jarrell, Amanda and son Jaston came in. We had a BBQ at our house on the 4th of July.
