2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening (can use 1/2 c. lard)
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
5 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. lemon extract
raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening. Add extract, eggs, and raisins. Stir dry ingredients and add alternately with milk. Refrigerate. Roll out dough on board until about 1/2 inch thick. Sprinkle dough with sugar and cut out. Bake at 350º.
