1 square butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup boiling water-pour boiling water over butter, sugar and salt
Cool slightly add yeast till bubbles, add flour, mix flour by spoon,cover with wet hot dish towel, rise for 20 minutes.
2 pkg dry yeast ( 2 T)
2 cup flour making a sponge
Scale 1 cup milk
3 eggs
4 cups flour

Scald and cool milk and add to beaten eggs and mix well.
Add flour, a little at a time, (may take almost 5 cups of flour).
Flour board, pour dough on board and knead a little until mixed well.
Put dough back into bowl for about 1 1/2 hours.
Divide dough into 3 balls. Flour board, roll out like pie crust and spread with soft butter.
Cut in half and in half again and then each 1/4 of pie cut into 3 pieces. Grease cookie sheet, rise 1 hour. Bake at 400º for 10 minutes. Brush butter on top when they come out of the oven for a shinning look. Takes 3 hours from start to finish.
