Directions:Dissolve marshmallows and milk or half and half in double boiler. Cool well. Whip the whipping cream and add the container of cool whip. Fold in the chocolate.
Crush graham crackers and mix with sugar and melted butter. Press the mixture into a pie plate and up the sides. Pour filling mixture into graham cracker crust. Save a tablespoon of the crushed graham crackers to sprinkle on top.
(Note, Grandma would have never used a pre-made graham cracker crust, but much easier!) |

Notes: Grandma Adams was famous for her chocolate chip pie. She once took two of them to the Methodist Church's silent auction and Greg Gorgan bought one for $50! In her "original recipe" she didn't have the cool whip included as an ingredient. But I know she always added that to make it really high and fluffy. If you share this recipe with others, leave out the cool whip, as it is the "secret family ingredient!"
Grandma also always ground the chocolate. She had a metal grinder that she would hook on to her small kitchen table to grind the chocolate squares, as well as the peanuts for peanut bars.
