6 Large Pears (peeled, cored, and thinly sliced)
1/4 C. boiling water (warm) **
1 lemon (juiced) or equal amount of lemon juice **
2 C. rolled oats
2 C. all-purpose flour
2 C. brown sugar
2 T. cinnamon
1 1/4 C. melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix pears, water and lemon juice in an 8 x 8" baking pan.
Use a large bowl and combine oats, flour, brown sugar and cinnamon.
Pour in the melted butter and stir to make a nice crumbly mixture.
Spread the topping evenly over the fruit.
Bake for around 55 minutes or until the topping is crisp and browned.

**The first time I made this recipe, I added the water and lemon juice. I did not prefer it. It tasted a little from the lemon, and the water made it runny after if was baked.
**The second time I made this recipe, I omitted the water and the lemon juice, and it turned out great.

ANOTHER NOTE: When baking it in a 9 x 13" pan, I increased the pears until the dish was full. For the topping, I used 3 C. flour, 3 C. oats, 3 C. brown sugar, and 2 C. of melted butter. It was plenty of topping.
