1¾ Cup flour
1 Teaspoon baking soda
½ Teaspoon salt
1½ Teaspoon cinnamon
1 Teaspoon allspice
1 Teaspoon nutmeg
¼ Teaspoon cloves
½ Cup oil (you can use butter)
1 Cup sugar
1 Egg
1 Cup unsweetened applesauce
Optional. Add 1 cup raisins and/or nuts

Directions:
Combine flour, soda, salt and spices together. Blend sugar and oil (or butter) until fluffy, add egg to sugar mixture and beat throughly. Combine flour mixture and sugar mixture with applesauce until all ingredients are blended well. Add raisins or nuts if you like. Pour into a greased 8" pan.
Bake in 350º oven for 45 -50 minutes Sprinkle with powdered sugar when cool, or frost with icing of your choice.
