2¼ cup flour
2 t. ground ginger
1 t. baking soda
1 t. cinnamon
¾ t. cloves
dash of salt
1 cup sugar
extra sugar to roll cookies in
¾ cup soft butter
1 large egg
¼ cup sorghum molasses

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, ginger, soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt. Mix and set aside. In large bowl, beat butter with mixer on low for about 1 minute to soften. Gradually add sugar, beat until fluffy. Add eggs and molasses, beat well. Stir in dry ingredients. Shape into 1½ balls, roll in sugar. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven at 350º for 10 minutes or less. Do not over bake, they will be hard. let sit a few seconds before removing to cool. Place in a sealed container with a couple slices of bread to keep them soft.
