1½ cup sugar
½ cup shortening
3 eggs
4 t. baking powder
1 t. salt
¼ t. cloves
1¼ cup pumpkin
½ cup milk
3 cup sifted cake flour
¼ t. nutmeg or mace
1 t. cinnamon
Directions:
Directions:
Sift all dry ingredients together twice.
Cream shortening till light an fluffy.
Add sugar gradually and beat thoroughly.
Add eggs one at a time beating well after each.
Add pumpkin and blend well.
Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, beginning and ending with dry.
Pour into 2, 9" prepared pans and bake in preheated oven at 350º 30 minutes.
