1 c. margarine
1 c. sugar
3 oz. cream cheese
1 T. vanilla
1 egg yolk
2½ c. flour
Strawberry or Apricot Preserves

Directions:
Directions:
1. All ingredients should be at room temperature.
2. Mix all ingredients except preserves in the order listed.
3. Roll into 1 inch balls, place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
4. Press a deep well in center of the ball with a thimble or fingertip (flouring helps).
5. Fill the well with preserves.
6. Bake at 350º for 10-12 minutes.

I won 2nd place with this recipe in the dessert catagory of the Salina Journal Holiday Cookbook in 1987. Grandma Herman and Mom really liked these.
