2 cups all purpose flour

½ cup brown sugar

2 tsp double-acting baking powder

1 tsp salt

2 tbsp butter

1 tsp vanilla

½ tsp cinnamon

1 egg

1 cup milk

¾ cup of broken nut meats or part dates and part nut meats

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.

Have all ingredients at room temperature.

Sift into a bowl the flour, brown sugar. baking powder, cinnamon and salt.

Melt and cool slightly the butter.

Beat until light the egg, vanilla and milk.

Add the melted butter.

Beat the liquid ingredients into the sifted ones until well mixed.

Fold in the nuts or date and nut mix.

Place the dough in a greased bread pan and bake for about 40 minutes
