2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup butter
1 ½ cups white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Mix flour, baking soda and salt, set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the egg, then stir in the vanilla.
Mix in dry ingredients until well blended.
Stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts.
Roll the dough into 2 inch balls and place them 3 inches apart on greased cookie sheet (do not flatten).
Bake for 20 minutes. Allow cookies to cool for a few minutes on baking sheet before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
